Template Display
1. When do you use template display?
You use template display when your scene becomes complex.
2. What does templating the display allow you to do?
Templating the display makes it easier for you to easily select the objects you want.
3. How does the object change when you template the display?
Its wireframe changes to a gray color.
4. How does the template display help you?
This helps in preventing you from accidentally selecting or modifying an object.
5. How do you change the display of objects to template mode?
From the main menu, select Display>Object Display>Template.
6. How do you untemplate a templated object?
Go to edit in the Menu Bar and select Select All. Go to display in the Menu Bar>Object Display>Untemplate.
7. How did you work with template display in the last lesson?
I used template display to create the dome; template display helped me to not accidentally mess with the columns.
Components
1. What is a component?
Smaller parts in geometric shapes.
2. Give three examples of a component.
Control vertices, face and hulls.
3. What does a component allow you to do in Maya?
Allows you to work with objects at a finer level and allow you to edit them in creative ways.
4. What are the step to select a component of an object?
Set the selection mode to Component mode>right click your object and select Control Vertex from the pop up menu. Drag the selection box around your objects vertices.
5. How did you work with components in the last lesson?
I used components to stretch out Entablature.
